American Dental Association Convention
The Doctors and staff at Lancaster Dental Associates recently took advantage of a wonderful opportunity to expand our knowledge of the latest and greatest dental products and procedures available today by attending the American Dental Association annual convention. The ADA convention was held at the Orlando Convention Center in Orlando, Florida from October 9th -11th.
During that time, the Doctors and staff walked the massive convention floor where dental manufacturers from all over the world had booths and displays set up to present the latest dental technologies available. Various companies displayed their specific products which the doctors and staff could examine, touch, and utilize, and also compare to other companies similar products. This gives us the unique opportunity to evaluate all the products we use for our patients and discover if there are any that are superior in performance and ease of use. In addition, this allows our dental office to stay current with what is available and bring those improvements into our office and therefore our patients' benefit. Large dental office equipment is also on display and can be assessed for future placement in our office to increase patient comfort and diagnostic capabilities to improve patient care.
The Doctors, Assistants, Registered Dental Hygienists and Patient Care Associates also attended continuing educational seminars sponsored by the ADA. The courses covered topics important to each person on our dental team. The doctors expanded their knowledge on treatment planning, placement and restoring dental implants, restorative materials available, cancer screening and patient care. The Registered Dental Hygienists learned new treatment modalities for periodontal therapy, childcare and how to improve patient’s home care. The Dental Assistants learned about new products and materials used chair side in direct patient care. And Patient Care Associates learned how to improve efficiency in scheduling and new updates for insurance codes to expedite insurance benefits for our patients. Everyone came away with new ideas and ways to improve the overall dental experience that we provide at our office for our wonderful patients.
