Christmas in Canandaigua
On December 3rd, the doctors of Lancaster Dental Associates hosted a Christmas outing for our wonderful staff. We spent the afternoon at the NYS Wine & Cullinary Center in Canandaigua, NY learning the fine art of great cooking as well as the joy of wine tasting!
After a brief tour of the facility, we were skillfully guided by professional chefs through the preparation of a four-course meal in the Viking Range Hands-On Kitchen. After pairing off into teams, we prepared Herbed Goat Cheese Phyllo Pockets, Caesar Salad, Rib Roast with Crispy Mushrooms, Bacon-Wrapped Filet Mignon, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Braised Root Vegetables and for dessert, Tarte Tatin with Apples and fresh whipped cream. Each team prepered a different part of the meal under the expert tutelage of Chef Eric and Chef Chuck. Our reward at the end was to enjoy an afternoon lunch of the foods we had just prepared. It was delicious!
In addition, our meal was paired with New York State wines. The mission of the NYS Wine & Culinary Center is to promote New York State agriculture by using local wine, beer and food, while supporting New York growers and producers. After lunch we enjoyed a visit to their beautiful Tasting Room where our staff tried an assortment of New York wines and beer. A few bottles may have made a trip back to Lancaster too!
We had great winter weather for our bus trip to Canandaigua and back. It was a day enjoyed by all!
