LDA Doctors Take Flight

The doctors of LDA celebrated “Christmas in June” when they received a special gift from the Registered Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants and Patient Care Associates. The staff surprised the doctors with early Christmas presents – 30-minute “Discovery Flights” at the Lancaster Airport located on 18 Enterprise Drive, off Walden Avenue.

Prior to embarking on their exciting jaunt, the doctors gathered with staff members to enjoy a delicious luncheon at the office. From there, the group proceeded to the Lancaster Airport, where Dr. Flanigan, Dr. Marchetta, Dr. DiBenedetto and Dr. Hrab delighted in the opportunity to each take a 30-minute flight in a Cessna Skyhawk Aircraft over Lancaster and Buffalo. The four-passenger plane had complete sets of controls for each front seat. The pilot explained his actions as the plane took off and handed over the controls once they were airborne. The doctors received constant instruction and guidance while at cruising altitude and had the absolute thrill of controlling the aircraft and performing aerial maneuvers as per the pilot’s instruction.

The flight paths varied, as each doctor was allowed to choose where they wanted to fly. A clear day provided beautiful aerial views of the city of Buffalo and the waterfront, as well as their own homes and neighborhoods. The flight experience and the beautiful weather combined, provided an experience of a lifetime for all the doctors. They extend a very special “thank you” to their awesome staff for a truly unique and creative gift.
