LDA Excursion to Medieval Times
The staff of Lancaster Dental Associates celebrated the holiday season in grand style this year at Medieval Times in Toronto. We were treated to an evening of jousting, knights, damsels, lords, ladies, kings, queens, horses, suits of armor, shields, and feats of valor. All this while eating dinner- without forks, spoons, and knives- just like the days of King Arthur’s England.
We boarded a merry olde tour bus at our office in Lancaster, crossed the moat at the Peace Bridge, and arrived at our destination in Toronto. To begin, we toured the replica medieval castle on the lakefront site of the CNE, shopped at the souvenir stands, and enjoyed a few cocktails. The staff then posed for a portrait by the royal photographer, and everyone smiled for the camera. At the appointed hour, we were trumpeted to dinner in the arena.
A delicious dinner of tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, barbeque pork ribs, and baked potato, topped off by a delectable apple turnover, was served while we watched the story unfold of the prince trying to find his way back to the princess in the castle. The LDA staff enthusiastically waved their red and yellow flags and loudly cheered on the gallant knight as he battled others in a raucous and thrilling jousting match.
During the bus ride there, we watched two movies, Excalibur and A Knight’s Tale, which set the mood for the evening. The trip was a lot of fun, and gave the staff a great bonding experience, as well as a nice way to start the Christmas season. Don’t forget to take a look at our royal portrait!
